You hear stories about it all the time: Couples with mismatched sex drives. The worst part is that most couples never see it coming. The beginning of a relationship can be deceiving. It’s exciting to be with someone new. So, even if one doesn’t have a particularly high sex drive, it sure can seem like it when a new partner comes along.
But then the relationship gets into full swing. Years pass. And suddenly, it becomes very clear that things just aren’t the same – at all. The causes can be various.
Sexologist and relationship expert Dr. Logan Levkoff of New York City explains that it’s “very common for couples to have mismatched sex drives; men and women are built differently, learn differently about sex and that translates to libido.”
