About Me
I came to the U.S. at age of 12 with my mother. We settled in sunny Florida, which was quite a contrast to Minsk. I have always been fascinated by sex and relationships. Sex Secrets is where I share sex advice, experiences, news, and sometimes a little humor. If you have a question about sex that you prefer not to post in the comments, you can email me at svetlanaivano(at)yahoo.com.

12 Kinds of Sex Every Woman Has to Have Before She Settles Down

At The Frisky, Simcha Whitehill describes the twelve kinds of sex every woman has to have before she settles down. (I’ve only had nine of them.)

I’m sick of all these so-called relationship experts telling ladies the way to snag a man is to keep it in your pants, er, skirt. Listen, you big mouth prisses, not only am I too old to be a virgin, but I sure as hell am glad I’m not! Holding out for some kind of commitment only makes a gal think her vag is her primary value, not herself. Lame! And, frankly, even my mother, a proper lady who wears pantyhose in Florida, agrees you have to test-drive some cars before you know which one you wanna buy, if you know what she means. Especially before you settle down, you have to get around and at least experience these 12 kinds of sex. Read more

Well I have to say, as a guy who hasn’t been around the block twenty times, what a ridiculous list.

Men probably think the article is going to be about sex acts, but, instead, it’s mostly about sexual relationships. This seems ridiculous to men since that isn’t what sex is to them, but to women the relationship is what defines the sex.http://sexsecretsblog.com/wp-admin/#comments-form

I’m not seeing it Svetlana, it is about sex acts with no time to build relationships.

That’s one of the reasons I call it ridiculous.

Oh, and massive misunderstanding of men in that last line. The sex is an important part of the relationship, and we don’t feel about relationships the way women do (we don’t feel about anything the same way women do, I suspect) but relationship is important to us.

  • Svetlana Ivanova says:

Except for the “big one” example, all the ways for women to have sex in this article are defined by the relationship, not by the act. That’s why I didn’t make all twelve: I haven’t “jumped the age gap” or had a sexual relationship with a celebrity or a woman.

I don’t think I misunderstand men as much as you think. Relationships are important to both men and women, of course. However, when it comes to sex, men remember what they did more than whom they did it with, while women are the opposite. The relationship supersedes the sex.
